D1 Advantage is the only sports performance training program in the United States that was designed by a former NCAA Division I Athlete specifically for individual lacrosse players and teams. The majority of the other sports performance programs are track based or designed by someone who has never even played the game of lacrosse! These other training programs, most which are franchise owned, concentrate on linear "straight-ahead" speed and have a cookie-cutter approach to training that was designed by a corporate board of advisors, not actual athletes or strength coaches.

At D1 Advantage, we are the only sports performance training company in this country to use the Game Speed: Lacrosse Performance Training protocol to train male and female lacrosse players on how to develop linear, lateral, backward speed, and functional lacrosse specific strength. Our protocol concentrates on lacrosse specific biomechanical function to create the fastest and strongest lacrosse player. Our techniques use functional lacrosse strength movements to create a well-rounded lacrosse player, who can translate their speed and strength from the practice field to the game of lacrosse. We have successful programs available for ages 12 yrs. old youth lacrosse through to the professional level of lacrosse. Our program was born in 1990 on the Homewood campus of The John Hopkins University and has developed into the most comprehensive lacrosse specific speed and strength program in the United States of America.
